Computer driver installation?

I recently put a new hard drive in my computer and purchased a recovery disc to reinstall my windows xp operating system, service pack, and drivers! I was able to reinstall the O.S, and the service pack, but i'm having trouble with installing the drivers! I put the "drivers install" disc in and click on "my computer". Then I click on my disc drive and it brings up a window with a number of folders! I was told by someone in a Staples store that I had to click on each folder and overwrite the files. The first one for "Audio codex or modem" was okay but the next one seemed to take for ever! It says something about "unzipping" but it seems to take much longer than I was told it should! What else must I do if anything?
