Sims update only half installed now Sims won't work?

I tried updating my Sims and installing the new PC/Mac Game Update for 1.22, and the installation just stopped. A screen popped up and said that the installation failed, so I tried to reinstall it by going under the update tab in the Sims start up menu. The tab said that my game was all up to date, so I thought maybe the update did work for reason. I started up my Sims game and it wouldn't load past a black screen. I left it running for twenty minutes and the screen stayed black and my Sims won't work at all! How do I fix this?! I can't find a link to try and reinstall the update anywhere.
